Enjoy a 7-day Christian cruise to Alaska
with your host, Mark Bishop.

July 10-17, 2009

PRINTABLE REGISTRATION FORM

Dr. Charles Stanley invites you to join him on an exciting adventure cruising the Inside Passage of Alaska. Templeton Tours has chartered the entire ship for friends of In Touch Ministries. The bars, casinos and slot machines will be closed and the ship’s entertainers will be replaced by Christian speakers and entertainers. Dr. Charles Stanley, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia and speaker on the In Touch Ministries radio and television broadcasts, will be your host & featured speaker on the cruise.

We will sail aboard the luxurious ms Zaandam of Holland America Line. This floating resort will serve as your home for the seven day cruise. You will enjoy the best in Gospel music, Bible study, and Christian entertainment, while at the same time taking in the beauty that is ALASKA.

The adventure begins as we depart Seattle, Washington and cruise north to the untouched natural beauty of Alaska. While cruising, keep an eye out for wildlife sightings. Often spotted along this route are killer whales, eagles, and the majestic humpback whale. Remember to bring a camera and a pair of binoculars.

Sunday morning we will start the day with a worship service led by Dr. Stanley. At noon we will dock in Alaska’s state capital of Juneau. Juneau is a wonderful old mining town resplendent with natural beauty. Visit Mendenhall Glacier - it’s actually within the city limits. For a real treat, sample fresh Alaskan salmon grilled over an alderwood fire at a local Salmon Bake. Optional tours offered in Juneau include: sport fishing, kayaking, dog sledding, and helicopter flights over the glacier fields.

Monday is a call at rustic Skagway, Alaska. Home to the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad, this Northernmost port of the Inside Passage is best known as the beginning of the Chilkoot trail, used by gold seekers in the late 1800’s. In addition to the numerous optional tours offered here, you will enjoy a stroll down the wooden sidewalks in the former gold rush frontier town.

On Tuesday morning we enter the fjord of Tracey Arm and cruise to the site of the Sawyer Glacier. Once the captain has positioned the ship near the glacier, we will pause for Dr. Stanley to read a passage of scripture from the book of Genesis. Then together we will sing “How Great Thou Art“ as we view the magnificence of God’s creation.

Wednesday morning we arrive at Ketchikan, Alaska. Like many other communities in southeast Alaska, Ketchikan is a town surrounded by wilderness. For a taste of Alaska’s past, see the worlds greatest collection of totem poles at Totem Bight or Saxman Village, or walk along famous Creek Street. This important fishing center is also known as the “Salmon Capital of the World.”

Thursday evening we dock at the capital city of Victoria, British Columbia. This picturesque city situated on the southern end of Vancouver Island, has an intimate charm with a distinctly English flavor. Favorite sights include the landmark Empress Hotel on Wharf Street. And no visit to Victoria would be complete without a tour of the world famous Butchart Gardens. The gardens feature over 30 acres of immaculately manicured fragrance and beauty. Be sure to take a camera and plenty of film.

Relax and take in the breathtaking views while cruising through the passages, fjords, and glaciers. You will enjoy an atmosphere of worship, praise, and fellowship among hundreds of fellow Christians.
