On Monday night of NQC, Mark had to be at home. So guess who was there to meet the folks and take care of Mark's money. Mark with his friend (and award-winning producer/arranger) Steve Mauldin. Mark with our dear friends Shirlene and Andrew Phipps. Here's Mark and another great songwriter. Mark meeting with some of the many fans at NQC 2003. Here is Mark with the super talented, lovely, and charming Kyla Rowland and our very dear friend Billy Nobles.
None other than his younger brother, Kenny. There's nothing like brotherly love, right? Steve was the producer for several recordings by The Bishops including "You Can't Ask Too Much of My God," "Reach the World," and "Great Things." Steve was also the arranger and conductor for The Bishops' historic "Chapter X" recording which featured a live orchestra. These folks are well known around the Muncie, IN area for their successful concert promoting, radio, and TV ministries. They have been close friends for many years, and Brother Andrew even claims Steve Perkins as kin. They are great folks! Phil Cross and Mark Bishop. We had a great time meeting with many of our friends at our booth. As you know, Kyla is the writer of some of Southern Gospel's greatest songs. She has written hundreds of songs that have been recorded by Gold City, The Cookes, The Perrys, The Hoskins Family, and many others. This year, Kyla and Mark hosted the SGN Scoops Diamond Awards for our buddy Allen Smith. This was great event and we hope that if you attend NQC next year, you will make a point to attend.
Billy Nobles is one of Mark's dearest friends. For many years, Billy could be heard via the airwaves of WMGY in Montgomery, AL. A few years ago, Billy won the "Super Fan" award at the Singing News Fan Awards. Billy is a true gentleman with superb taste in music. He never fails to share some classic music from his extensive collection with us whenever we see him. We love you Billy!
